Mark your calendars! You won’t want to miss this engaging and immersive virtual open house, as we open wide the doors to Mary Baker Eddy’s final home in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
Longyear members are invited to join us during the week of April 24-30, 2025, for this exclusive online event.
What you can look forward to
Guided Tour
Longyear staff will take you on a 25-minute guided tour of the main house. You’ll visit key rooms where Mrs. Eddy and her staff lived and worked.
A Carriage House Visit
Step into the imposing stone carriage house and see its array of horse-drawn vehicles and a brand-new display of the original harnesses.
History of the House
Learn about the 1907 expansion of the house, the 1908 renovation, and Longyear’s just-completed, top-to-bottom restoration.
Activities for Children
Join the author of A Home for Spike for a storytime session as she reads this enchanting book aloud. And we’re sure that kids will also enjoy a special craft demonstration.
Listen to excerpts from Life at 400 Beacon Street
Step back into history and imagine what life was like at 400 Beacon Street while listening to several chapters from this Longyear Museum Press publication.
Self-guided Exploration
Make your own way through each floor of the main house using interactive Matterport technology.
