400 Beacon Street: Special Tours at Annual Meeting

May 30, June 2, and June 3, 2025
NEW TOUR SLOTS JUST ADDED!

Longyear members and friends visiting the Boston area for the 2025 Annual Meeting of The Mother Church are warmly invited to tour Mary Baker Eddy’s final residence in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.

With most of our initial 10 tours filling up,  we have added several more slots to coincide with Annual Meeting weekend.

We hope this gives visitors coming from a long distance a special opportunity to visit Mrs. Eddy’s beautifully restored home and immerse themselves in the work and achievements that took place here.

Walking into 400 Beacon Street today, you will step back to 1908—when Mrs. Eddy’s household moved into this gracious building, which served for three years as the active executive headquarters of the early Christian Science movement. The house also provided a warm sense of home and family life.

Engaging exhibits and informative guides help deepen understanding of Mrs. Eddy’s time in this house and day-to-day life in the early 1900s. Get to know some of the early workers. Gain fresh insights into the life and work of the Discoverer, Founder, and Leader of Christian Science. And make sure to stop by the Carriage House which has a new display of the original harnesses and tack used with Mrs. Eddy’s horses and carriages.

Note: This two-hour activity includes guided tours of the main house and carriage house at Mary Baker Eddy’s final residence, as well as time to explore the exhibit and grounds.

Note to Boston-area friends and residents
